Storms To Rumble Across Acadiana Tonight
A frontal system pushing across Texas will bring changes to Acadiana's weather over the next 24 to 36 hours. The storm system doesn't appear to be a severe weather maker. Although, we can't rule out a rumble of thunder, some flashes of lightning, and a downpour or two especially tonight.
Forecasters with the Storm Prediction Center are not anticipating any widespread strong storms as this system moves across Louisiana during the nighttime hours of Monday into early Tuesday.
Rainfall totals will not be that large either. Most of the forecast models show an accumulation of one-quarter of an inch to half an inch of precipitation as the system moves through the area.
The timing of the system's passage appears to be a positive thing for Acadiana as well. Right now forecasters don't put the best chances of rain in the area until after suppertime tonight and the heaviest weather exiting the area by sunrise on Tuesday. Hopefully, this will mean the weather will not affect carpools and commutes later today and during the morning on Tuesday.
