It's sadly ironic that an organization whose mission is to help kids has fallen victim to a crime committed by the kind kid they could actually help. Police in Abbeville are reporting they arrested a juvenile suspect in connection with a break-in and burglary at the Boys and Girls Club of Abbeville on Comeaux Drive.

The break-in happened about three o'clock early Tuesday morning. When police, alerted by an alarm, arrived on the scene they noticed two people on top of the Boys and Girls Club building. The two suspects fled on foot in different directions.

One of the suspects was apprehended and authorities discovered a backpack that was filled with two PlayStation 4 systems, an HDMI cord, and power adapters. Once the items in the backpack were verified to be the property of the club the suspect was taken into custody.

The male juvenile was charged with burglary and curfew violation, and released to his guardian. Another suspect in the case, also a male juvenile, is being sought at this time.

If you have information on the break-in or the suspect that is still at large you are encouraged to call Abbeville Police.
