Tampax Parent Company Addresses Viral TikTok of Metal Object Foun

Ladies, what would you say is one of the most frustrating "musts" of being a woman?

Many of you probably thought about buying feminine products, right? It's expensive, sometimes embarrassing, and an unfriendly reminder that your life will be a nightmare for about a week.

The last thing you want to worry about is grabbing a tampon to use and noticing that something is a bit...off. This is what happened to TikTok user Celia Piemontese who chose to share her experience.

Celia explains that she typically uses an organic line of tampons. However, due to a shortage, she had to use Tampax for the time being.

She explains that when she opened the tampon rapper, she noticed that the applicator looked different than the others. Tampax applicators are normally purple, but this one was hot pink and had "SS" written on it. That's not even the strangest part.

When she opens the tampon itself, there was a piece of metal inside of it.

This naturally caused the video to go viral with over 1 million likes, over 9 thousand comments and 18 thousand shares. What caught the eye of many viewers is this comment specifically.

The video garnered enough attention that the parent company of Tampax caught wind. According to a recent article, Procter & Gamble publicly responded to the video saying,

Thank you for reaching out with your questions and appreciate the opportunity to respond. We are aware of the TikTok video and have looked into the matter. We want to reassure you this was an isolated issue. This was a sample from our quality control process that was inadvertently gifted to a US consumer by an employee. Quality control samples are not sold to consumer.

Celia also posted on TikTok later to say that Procter & Gamble did reach out to her privately about the incident.

She was instructed to send the tampon back and was offered "compensation." However, this isn't what Celia was looking for. She simply wanted to get the word out there for women to be a little more mindful with feminine care.
