Target And Ulta Beauty Are Splitting Up And Here Is What Changes

(KMDL-FM) If you didn't hear the relationship news, Target and Ulta Beauty are breaking up. Since 2021, fans of Ulta Beauty Products have been able to find those products in their hometown Target Store. That partnership between Ulta Beauty and Target will come to an end in August 2026.

The partnership made sense for both companies back in 2021. Ulta Beauty needed a better vehicle to get their products in front of shoppers since traffic at mall locations of their stores was down. Target could benefit from the prestige that the Ulta Beauty brand brought to their stores.

How Many Target Stores Are Losing Ulta Beauty in August 2026?

In the stores that offered Ulta Beauty, there were about 600 of them across the Target footprint; shoppers could satisfy their needs for cosmetics and other health and beauty products while taking care of grocery shopping or shopping for the lawn and garden.

Since Ulta Beauty occupies, at least until August, a large portion of Target's floor plan, what will be brought in to fill the void? The folks at Target have given us some insight. It won't be Ulta Beauty, but it might be very similar.

What Will Replace Ulta Beauty in Target Stores?

The plan is to replace Ulta with The Target Beauty Studio; see what I mean? It's not Ulta, but it's similar. The "studio" will carry about 80 trending beauty products; about 60 of those will be new-to-Target items.

Shoppers will be able to find products for skincare and haircare. You will also find an assortment of products in the cosmetics department, and the "studio" will offer a large selection of fragrances.

The Target Beauty Studio will be staffed with specially trained Target employees. They will not only assist in customer purchases but will be trained to offer advice and counseling on products. You will also be able to collect specific Target Circle rewards for beauty products as well.
