We’ve all heard of a smartphone, but what about a smart-tree? Just in time for Christmas, Amazon has released a 7 foot Alexa-controlled Christmas tree. The Alexa enabled Christmas tree has made its way to Acadiana and I have the video to prove it. These trees have been out of stock almost the moment they hit Amazon and someone from Lafayette managed to snag one. Mr. Christmas is a line of holiday products available on Amazon and it’s their top seller this year. It's the first-ever Alexa-enabled tree.  Mr. Christmas has several functions that will make your life a whole lot easier. And maybe even a little more entertained. The voice-activated tree has 13 lighting functions that can completely customize your tree. You can choose from so many color options to fit your mood or décor. You can choose a whimsical multi-color one night and go with a classic, white look on another night. Simply tell Alexa what you want and watch it change right in front of your eyes. It’s meant to look like a Douglas Fir and it has 1,750 flame-retardant adjustable tips to make it look more realistic. Something that is very convenient is that you don’t have to worry about plugging the tree in and unplugging before bed.  Alexa will turn the lights on and off. You can even schedule when you would like them and even schedule if you want to change the type of lights. The color options are red, green, yellow, blue, purple, white, multi-color, multi-fade, multi-twinkle, multi-sparkle, candy cane and snowflakes.

Well, of course, my very techy and Alexa-nerd friend, Jadi, had to get one.  She actually has everything set up through Alexa in her house. She simply says, “Alexa, goodnight” when she is in bed and the lights will go off in her room.  So it was no surprise that she bought one of these bad boys the second she saw them. She proudly shared a video of her Mr. Christmas tree.

Mr. Christmas is available on Amazon for around $300.00. Yes, it may be a little pricier than your average tree but considering all that it does, the price isn’t that bad. They are selling like hotcakes and may be out of stock.
