The Best Stop Cajun Market in Carencro, Louisiana Now Open

Fans of The Best Stop will be happy to know that the new location in Carencro is officially open as of today -- Thursday, October 26, 2023.

This new store, like the one in Broussard, is known as The Best Stop Cajun Market.

The original location in Scott has always gone by The Best Stop Supermarket. That store has been open since 1986 when it was opened by Lawrence Menard (Uncle Brud) and Robert Cormier.

This new store is the third location overall for The Best Stop. And like the one in Broussard, it is a franchise store.

There will be an additional store opening this November in Katy, Texas, along with another franchise heading to Many, Louisiana near Toledo Bend.

The Best Stop Cajun Market in Carencro is owned by Steve and Shania Credeur along with Daneé and Josh Deville.

The cool part is that there is a connection to the family that started The Best Stop Supermarket in Scott. Daneé Deville is the granddaughter of Robert and Brunella Cormier, the founder of the original store.

According to The Best Stop's website, "Since she was young, Daneé carried a dream intertwined with her family's history."

And now she, along with her husband and partners, will get a chance to live out that childhood dream.

The Best Stop Cajun Market in Carencro is located at 3470 NE Evangeline Thruway right before you get to Carencro (but technically a Lafayette address). As you are heading north on the frontage road, it's right before you get to Prejean's Cajun Restaurant.

At the new Carencro location, you can expect many of the great Cajun treats that made the brand so great, like boudin, cracklins, and specialty meats. They'll also provide a kitchen menu with breakfast items, burgers, poboys, salads, and more.

Plus, The Best Stop Cajun Market in Carencro has a drive-thru.
