We've all pretty much become accustomed to donning a mask whenever we are in public these days. Some of us love it, and some of us have become very defiant over the mask mandates set out by state and local government, and national retail chains.

According to Business Insider, over the weekend Walmart released a statement that said that would not be enforcing their mandatory mask rules because they fear staff members would be attacked by angry shoppers who are being challenged about wearing face coverings. Walmart has been requiring masks since July 20 at all of their stores in the United States. Company spokesperson Delia Garcia told Business Insider that to avoid confrontation, staff members have been instructed by management to still serve people who refuse to wear one. "We know there may be situations that may not make it possible for everyone to wear a face covering, in those situations we will allow them to shop in our stores and clubs." Over the last several weeks there have been numerous reports around the USA of fights breaking out over mask rules.

At least 28 major retailers are now requiring customers to don a face covering before entering stores, but interestingly enough, Walmart is not the only major chain who won't be enforcing their rule. CNN says Home Depot, Lowe's, CVS, and Walgreens will also be serving customers who refuse to wear a mask to shop.
