The 78th Annual International Rice Festival in Crowley is scheduled for October 16-19 in downtown Crowley.

The four-day celebration of one of Louisiana's staple crops features great food, music and fun. Some of the special events include the rice cooking contest, rice eating contest, farmer's banquet, and the queen's ball.

And don't forget about the festival's two parades: the Children's Parade on Friday and the Grand Parade on Saturday afternoon.

One of the great things about the Rice Festival is that it's free to attend, so the live music is the best deal around!

There are two stages that feature live bands and this year's line-up is impressive. This year's national headliner is the pride of Vidor, Texas, country hitmaker Tracy Byrd! Tracy will hit the stage at 8:30pm on Saturday, October 18th.

Some of the other big names performing this year's Rice Festival include Wayne Toups & Zydecajun, Travis Matte & the Kingpins, Roddie Romero, Chris Ardoin, The Chee Weez and many more.
