[Update 05:00pm CDT] All lanes of Interstate 10 are now open.

Interstate 10 remains closed because of an accident at milepost 119. The accident involves hazardous materials that is why the lengthy delay in reopening the roadway completely. As of now eastbound traffic is being diverted at Lafayette to the north on Interstate 49. Motorist will then take U.S. Highway 190 East across the basin. The westbound lanes of the roadway are now open at LA 415 (Lobdell)

At 8:20 this Saturday morning calls began coming into 97.3 The Dawg's studios concerning a traffic slowdown affecting the eastbound lanes of I-10. At 8:36 Louisiana State Police issued an alert that I-10 Eastbound was closed because of a crash.

That crash occurred between Exit 121 and Exit 127. That is approximately 5 miles east of Henderson. Because the crash occurred on the raised portion of the roadway it will take extra time to clear the incident. State Police have not determined how long the roadway will be closed while authorities clear this accident.
