Treasury Confirms: Will Make $1 Coin With Trump’s Image
(KMDL-FM) President Trump, through his "art of the deal," has made a lot of money in his time as a real estate investor and entrepreneur. And now it appears as though the President is going to get his face in a place he is very familiar with. The United States Treasury has announced it will create a one-dollar coin with the likeness of President Trump.
Brandon Beach is the Treasurer of the United States, and he confirmed the information about a "rumored" Donald Trump $1 coin in a post on the social media platform X. According to comments made by Mr. Beach, the coin is intended to be a part of the nation's celebration of its 250th anniversary. That will be celebrated next year in 2026.

The Donald Trump $1 coin will feature a likeness of the President in profile on the front. Very similar to the way President Washington's profile graces the front of a quarter. The back of the $1 coin will feature another likeness of President Trump. This likeness depicts the Commander-in-Chief with his fist raised high in front of a waving American flag.
What Does the Donald Trump $1 Coin Look Like?
The back of the coin will also feature the words "Fight, Fight, Fight", something the President used in his campaign for re-election. Here is how the coin has been depicted by the U.S. Treasury.
As you might imagine, the Donald Trump $1 Presidential Coin will have a few roadblocks to overcome before it can be minted. One of those roadblocks is not in the form of partisan bickering but in the form of United States law. According to federal law regarding instruments of money in the United States, "only the portrait of a deceased individual may appear on United States currency and securities."
The Treasury rebukes those claims by suggesting this proposed coin falls under the powers granted by Congress for the Treasury to issue coinage with designs emblematic of the United States' semiquincentennial.
Is A Proposed Donald Trump Coin Against the Law?
And to further complicate the matter even further, there is additional legislation that was passed in 2020, the Circulating Collectible Coin Redesign Act of 2020, which states that, "no head and shoulders portrait or bust of any person, living or dead, and no portrait of a living person may be included in the design on the reverse of specified coins."
Needless to say, like a lot of the policies and practices proposed by President Trump, there will be a lot of discourse and discussion before a final decision is reached. There was no specific timetable revealed for when and, most importantly, "if" these coins will be minted and circulated. That is still being discussed and debated.
