Two Traffic Stops On I-10 Net A Large Amount Of Drugs
Louisiana State Police troopers stopped two different cars on Interstate 10 this past weekend, and those stops resulted in the confiscation of over a hundred pounds of illegal drugs.
Saturday morning around 6 o'clock, troopers stopped 37-year-old Alax Trigo's car near Duson.
They got Trigo's permission to search his car, and they confiscated 124 pounds of marijuana.
Trigo was booked on the following charges:
- Improper lane usage
- No driver's license
- Possession with intent to distribute marijuana
Around 5:30 Sunday morning troopers stopped 23-year-old Tyler Hobbs of Houston, Texas, and they questioned him and the passenger 23-year-old Marques Jones of Humble, Texas.
Hobbs gave troopers permission to search his Mercedes, and they found:
- 1,350 Ecstasy pills
- 1,000 Xanax pills
- Four pints of Promethazine Syrup
Both Hobbs and Jones were booked with:
- Possession with intent to distribute schedule I and schedule IV narcotics
- Possession with intent to distribute Promethazine
State Police wants residents to know they will continue to crack down on drug sellers and anyone using substances illegally.
