(KMDL-FM) The Consumer Product Safety Commission has issued another recall. This time, the agency is recalling popular dietary supplements sold at Ulta Beauty and on the online retailer Amazon. The CPSC believes the products could pose a significant risk to children.

The Consumer Product Safety Commission announcement suggests the products could pose “a risk of serious injury or death from poisoning.” The recalled products were found to violate federal safety standards.

Massive Supplement Recall Includes Several Brands Sold by Multiple Retailers

At last count, the recall affected some 356,140 units of the supplements. Each of the recalled supplements contains iron. But that is not the reason for the CPSC scrutiny. In fact, the recall has less to do with the product and more to do with the product's packaging.

The recalled products violate the Poison Prevention Packaging Act. That act stipulates that any products containing iron must be sold in special packaging to prevent unintended use by children.

Which Brands of Supplements Are Affected by the CPSC Recall?

Here is a list of the affected brands. All of which were manufactured by Vitaquest International LLC. That firm is based in New Jersey. The affected brands include: Arey, Bari Life, Bird&Be, Biote, Dr. Fuhrman, NuLife, HMR, Bariatric Pal, Noevir, Zenbean, and Sakara.

Where Were the Recalled Dietary Supplements Sold?

The products were sold nationwide at several outlets, including Ulta Beauty, Credo Beauty, Erewhon, Healf, Nutrition World, The Vitamin Shoppe, and Fullscript. The supplements were also sold online via Amazon. It is also possible that consumers could have purchased the recalled items in medical offices or from the brand's own website.

The recalled products were sold between April 2023 and February 2026. The costs ranged from $13 to $130, depending on the product and where it was purchased. Again, the key cause for concern and the recall is the lack of child-resistant packaging.

Consumers may reach out to Vitaquest International by phone at 844-298-4545 or by email at productsafety@vitaquest.com for more information on how to obtain a replacement. The company is offering a free child-resistant replacement cap or storage pouch.

In the meantime, consumers should immediately move the supplements out of sight and out of reach of children to avoid any issues.
