The Scott Fire Department was called out to put out a blaze that started with a scrapped vehicle that was slated to be crushed according to a press release from Scott Fire Department Chief Chad Sonnier.

Sonnier says when they got to the business in the 4800 block of Cameron Street, they found a vehicle and a trailer full of other scrapped vehicles on fire. They were able to swiftly bring both fires under control and extinguish them.

When the man who works there saw the first vehicle on fire, he did try to take it off the trailer, but he was unsuccessful.

Sonnier says no one was injured at the recycling facility, and he says business was back to normal a short time after they put out the flames.
