The latest 10 am advisory on Tropical Storm Zeta shows winds picking up to near hurricane strength.

Dave Baker from the Storm Team 3 Weather Lab says "Tropical Storm Zeta is nearing hurricane strength as of the 10am advisory with winds of 70mph."

Tropical Storm Zeta is still on track to move across the northern tip of the Yucatan Peninsula and then move into the Gulf of Mexico.

Dave Baker says Zeta has a chance to strengthen do to "wind shear over the southern Gulf is low and heat content is high."

However, as Zeta moves into the Northern area of the Gulf of Mexico it will encounter cooler Gulf water and stronger wind shear.
