The annual KLFY "Food for Families" food drive might look a little different this year, but the need to help out our friends and neighbors in this challenging year is still here.

The food drive is in its 33rd year and benefits FoodNet Food Bank, which supports 20 food banks in the eight parish Acadiana area. This year, the food drive is adding a virtual way for you to help, with your $35 tax-deductible donation going directly to help those in need. It will provide a week's worth of food for those who are experiencing food insecurity this holiday season.

You can text 797979 to FOODNET to donate. Ben Broussard, FoodNet spokesperson told KLFY “Especially during this holiday season, the KLFY Food for Families virtual food drive is an opportunity for us in Acadiana to rally around our neighbors who are experiencing a heightened level of food insecurity, all while supporting in a safe and meaningful way.”
