Acadia Parish public schools will dismiss early today because of expected inclement weather.

Superintendent Scott Richard tells KPEL that schools will have an early lunch and dismiss around 11:30 a.m. Richard says the district plans to start the process of dismissing students after that.

"We are working with all stakeholders to start the process of early closure," Richard said.

In addition to Acadia Parish, St. Landry and Lafayette Parish public schools are also closing early today because of expected severe weather conditions.
