Wow, that seems like it was so long ago, doesn't it? Do you remember when the Saints traded former NFL mega-star running back Adrian Peterson to the Arizona Cardinals? It was after the fourth game of the season. If you recall the Saints had a record of two wins and two losses and had just beaten the Miami Dolphins in London when the deal was made.

Specifics of the trade deal were not really publicized. A lot of the compensation that the Saints would receive would be based on Peterson's performance and roster status with Arizona over the course of the remainder of the season.

Fortunately for the Saints, the Peterson trade didn't hurt the team at all. Peterson also played well for the Cardinals despite ending the season on injured reserve. The end result is a sixth-round draft pick for New Orleans in the upcoming NFL Draft.

What good is a sixth-round draft pick? Well, they could be Tom Brady good, or Pierre Garcon good, or even Neil Rackers good, those are just some of the NFL stars that have come from the 6th round of the draft.

The exact number of the pick in question and where it will fall in the NFL Draft order will be determined later this year when the NFL announces the official draft order. Regardless, it's one more chance to add one more piece to an always changing puzzle that is Saints football.
