Louisiana's Irish Bayou Castle

Sometimes called Fisherman's Castle or The Little White Castle, this place has bravely withstood everything Hurricane Katrina, Hurricane Isaac, and more have thrown at it.

WDSU reports the castle was originally built by Simon Villemarette in 1981 for the 1984 World's Fair in New Orleans and was completely decorated inside with medieval decor.

Louisiana's Irish Bayou Castle is located on I-10 East toward Slidell.

According to realtor Matthew Grass' listing, the Irish Bayou Castle has 2 bedrooms, 1 bath, and is 1,318 sqft, and sits on a 6,000 sqft lot.

The Irish Bayou Castle has long been a fascination for Louisianian's because our architecture is not typically associated with traditional European castles.

Louisiana is more known for its unique Creole and Cajun architecture, which has been influenced by French, Spanish, and African cultures.

Louisiana's Irish Bayou Castle is for sale again for $500,000.

Check out Matthew Grass' official listing for the castle over at realtor.com.

The official Facebook page Irish Bayou Castle has just released a video giving you a virtual tour of the property showing all of the fantastic new renovations that have been done.
