
Classic Country Saturday Night Looks Back In Country Music History
It's that time y'all! Classic Country Saturday Night, Acadiana's largest cocktail party is going down on your radio and via RadioPup.
As we party to our classic country favorites, I can't help but wonder. What were some of our favorite country legends up to 20, 30, even 40 years ago? According to CMT.com, something pretty great!
Turns out, on this day in country music history back in 1977, the great Loretta Lynn one twice at the American Music Awards, along with Conway Twitty, Charlie Pride, Glenn Campbell, Willie Nelson, Olivia Newton-John and the Eagles.
Also, that night Johnny Cash became the first country artist to receive the Award of Merit.
