Former LPD Officer, Wife Arrested On Battery Charges

Following an internal investigation within the Lafayette Police Department, a former officer--and his wife-- have been arrested on criminal charges.

Lafayette PD spokesman Cpl. Karl Ratcliff said  retired officer Dwayne Prejean has been arrested for domestic abuse battery. His wife, Allyson Prejean, was arrested for aggravated battery.

Both subjects were arrested and booked into the Lafayette Parish Correctional Center without incident.

A surveillance video from a River Ranch-area bar has gone viral on social media. The video shows the altercation that led to the arrests.
