Fans of Hardee's will not like this news.

As my father-in-law rolled up to the Hardee's location in Carencro to grab a breakfast sandwich he realized that the Hector Connelly location was closed. This was (to my google-researched knowledge) the last standing Hardee's location in the Lafayette area.

The Carencro Hardee's originally broke ground in the summer of 2017 and opened its doors in the following January.

Signage has already been removed and a sign shows that the location officially closed on September 27, 2020.

A few locals also tweeted about the closure.

The building will more than likely be scooped up instantly by a restaurant or a brand that would benefit from the turnkey model. I've already heard a few people say Cane's would be a perfect fit for the location even though a location at the nearby Louisiana Avenue exit off I-10 has been rumored for quite some time now.

Speaking of that location, the Chick-fil-A at that exit could probably use some relief based on the line that often spills into the street—just saying.

What would you put in the area? Drop me a note in the comments.
