Many of us in Acadiana have been keeping a cautious eye on Tropical Storm Karen the past few days. It looks like that cautious eye may soon be able to focus on other issues has the storm system has weakened. The National Hurricane Center says in its most recent update, that Karen is barely maintaining tropical storm status.

According to satellite views,a large amount of dry air over the western Gulf of Mexico and strong upper level winds have managed to keep the system at bay for most of its named life. Still the storm does hold a potential for tropical downpours and breezy conditions especially for those living east of Acadiana.

The local forecast from KATC TV 3 indicates both Karen and the high humidity we have been experiencing are about to be moved off to the east. In place, gorgeous fall like weather for much of the next few days.
