The potential for more flooding is very high over the next two days. That's what the National Weather Service in Lake Charles is telling us to tell you. That information is being corroborated by our own team of meteorologist from KATC TV 3.

A flood watch has been posted for almost all of South Louisiana at least through Saturday. Forecasters are projecting at least another 2 inches of rainfall possible over the warned area during the next 12-24 hours. This will exacerbate the conditions along creeks, rivers, and coulees in the area.

The persistent upper level wind patterns that have been driving disturbance after disturbance of the are the bast several days is expected to remain in place at least through late Saturday. That means the forecast for Acadiana and all the activities planned for the weekend is not good. We invite you to follow 973 The Dawg on Facebook, Twitter, and of course on the air all weekend for the latest information on postponements or cancellations.

The good news will finally arrive on Sunday with rain chances decreasing. The outlook for the beginning of the work week is much better with springlike temperatures and no chance of rain at least for the early part of the week.
