The Krewe of Carnivale en Rio parade rolled this weekend, kicking off the 2020 Mardi Gras Parade Season and, with it, the beginning of a new life together for one couple.

According to a post on the Krewe's Facebook Page, Andrew and Marissa came to Lafayette from Arkansas to enjoy the parade with Marissa's family. Prior to their arrival, Andrew did some planning.

Knowing that the Maraca is Rio's signature throw, Andrew arranged for Sue Nosworthy to create this specialty Maraca, and it was to be thrown to Marissa during the parade.

I don't know if you've ever ridden in a Mardi Gras parade in Lafayette, but let me tell you that Andrew took quite a chance: it's very easy for someone on a float to miss a person among so many along the parade route. The chance they took paid off. Click here to see the video.

SHE SAID YES!

Congrats to Andrew and Marissa, may you have many more Mardi Gras parades together.
