When it comes to taking the ACT, a great score can open up a world of possibilities and options when it comes to college. Even improving your score just a couple of points can make a huge difference in scholarship opportunities. One Louisiana high school student won't have to worry about taking the ACT again to get a better score, because he made a 36. Yeah, that's the best score you can get.

Last week, Dakota Simpson from Caddo Parish caught wind that ACT scores would be going out. Dakota tells shreveporttimes.com he kept trying to check his score, but was so nervous he kept screwing up his login information. Eventually he got it right, and that's when he saw it. Dakota had earned an absolutely perfect ACT score of 36.

Dakota Simpson tells shreveporttimes.com that earning a 36 "feels pretty good".

This was the fourth time Dakota had taken the ACT. He previously scored a 34, but felt he could do better. He was right.

There must be something in the water at Caddo Magnet High School, because over the past three years, five other students have scored a perfect 36 on the ACT. WOW.

Dakota is planning to major in mechanical engineering and is looking at Texas A&M, Georgia Tech and MIT. Also getting a look, the University of Arkansas, where both of his parents are alums.
