Louisiana Tickets Claim Powerball & Mega Millions Wins

The people who live in the other states of the union that participate in the multi-state lottery games Powerball and Mega Millions will no doubt be wondering what we've got brewing in the water here in Louisiana. That's because yet again the luck of Louisiana's lottery players has broken through for some big money wins.

Over the weekend a winning ticket for the Saturday Powerball game was sold in the state. That ticket matched four of the five white-ball numbers, the Powerball, and the player opted for the Powerplay option. That brought the total prize amount for that ticket to a cool $150,000.

According to the Louisiana Lottery website the Powerball ticket was purchased in Baton Rouge at the Racetrac Gas Station on Sherwood Forest Boulevard. The winning numbers for August 15, 2020, drawing were:

Meanwhile, in Friday's Mega Millions drawing another Louisiana lottery player earned some big money with a ticket they purchased in St. Rose at the St. Rose First Stop. That ticket matched four of the five white balls and the Mega Ball. The player had also opted for the Megaplier option. That made that ticket worth $20,000.

In both cases, the big jackpots were not won for either the Powerball game or the Mega Millions game. Those jackpots will continue to grow. The next drawing for Mega Millions will be on Tuesday night. The next Powerball drawing is set for Wednesday evening. The estimated jackpot for Mega Millions will be $40 million. The estimated jackpot for the Powerball game will be $22 million.
