Louisiana Town’s Only Employee Quits
Many of us can recite most of the words to the iconic hit by Johnny Paycheck, Take This Job and Shove It. Perhaps that's what Julie Monteleone was humming in her head when she notified the board of aldermen in the town of Killian that she was going to be leaving her position as town clerk.
In the video address, you can see above Monteleone gives a detailed description of why she no longer wants to be the clerk. I have to admit she makes some very bold and compelling statements.
Mostly what you can see in the video is frustration. The video shows a woman that is frustrated that the town's elected officials seem to spend more time squabbling among themselves and looking out for their personal interests.
Mayor Bock may have summed it up best with this quote that reported by NOLA.com.
We've gone from a big mess to a huge mess in this town
Meanwhile, the Livingston Parish town of about 1,200 people will have to deal with the fact that the town hall is closed, not technically, but there's no staff member on duty. Reportedly a sign was placed on the door by the mayor with his phone number.
