Not quite the news us Saints fans wanted to hear. New Orleans Saints wide receiver Joe Morgan was arrested in Jefferson Parish on early Saturday morning for allegedly driving while intoxicated. State Police booked the 25-year-old for DWI and driving with no license.

According to the arrest report, a state trooper spotted Morgan asleep behind the wheel on the Earhart Expressway near Causeway Boulevard. Morgan had to be awakened to step out of the car.

After Morgan performed poorly on his field sobriety test, he was arrested and booked into the Jefferson Parish Correctional Center in Gretna. His blood alcohol registered at 0.218 percent, more than twice the 0.08-percent legal limit.

Morgan was released the same day on a $1,150 bond.

Joe Morgan entered the offseason as the New Orleans Saints #3 receiver. Last year the speedy receiver caught 10 passes 379 yards and three touchdowns.
