If you've got outside projects that you're trying to complete before the weather gets nasty then today would be your day to get things wrapped up. Forecasters say Acadiana will have a very nice November day today. Skies will be mostly cloudy but the temperatures will be quite tolerable and around seasonal averages today.

Tonight and tomorrow are when the changes start to happen. A cold front should approach from the northwest during the day on Thursday. The current forecast timing on the front brings it into and through Acadiana late in the day on Thursday.

The frontal passage should kick off showers and storms. However, the Storm Prediction Center does not anticipate a severe weather event for the area. Although heavy to strong storms can't be ruled out of the forecast as the front moves through.

Behind the front, gusty breezes and cooler temperatures will begin to filter into the area. By Friday morning temperatures should be in the upper 40s. The forecast for the weekend is calling for clear skies and slightly cooler than normal temperatures.

The really cold weather won't move into Acadiana until sometime next week. That's when a strong frontal system bolstered by very cold Arctic air will push into the Gulf South. This could bring Acadiana's first frost of the 2019 cold-weather season. Forecast low temperatures for next Wednesday morning should be right around the freezing mark.
