(KMDL-FM) The Louisiana Lottery has confirmed that a ticket sold in the state as part of the Wednesday night scheduled drawings has won a prize of $100,000. The ticket winner was confirmed as lottery officials wrapped up last night's drawings in Powerball, Lotto, and Easy 5.

Lottery fever has died down just a bit from late December's frenzy when the Powerball lottery jackpot was well over $1 billion. Speaking of that jackpot win, our sources at Powerball have revealed details on that big win that occurred on Christmas Eve last year.

If you didn't hear, that $1.817 billion winner was sold in Cabot, Arkansas. The winning ticket was purchased at a Murphy USA location. It is unclear if the holder of the winning ticket will select the annuitized version of the jackpot or the lump sum payout. That lump sum payout is listed at $834.9 million.

How Much Was the Powerball Jackpot for Wednesday, January 7, 2025?

In case you're wondering, Joseph took home $565,750 after the tax obligation on the winngs were satisfied. He plans to use his financial windfall to pay off some debt and put the rest away for his children and grandchildren.
