Rouses Market Attempts to Break World Record
I have often wondered what sort of obscure talent or feat I could concoct that I could use to capture the attention of the Guinness Book of World Records folks. I am pretty certain the record would have to be one that no one has ever thought of or cared about achieving. The folks at Rouses Markets know a thing or two about records.
Yesterday at the Tchoupitoulas Street location of Rouses an attempt was made to set the world record for the largest avocado display. The idea was a partnership between Rouses and Villita Avocados. The mission was to place over 112,000 avocados from Mexico on display at once. Yeah, it was pretty much a wall of avocados.
It's stuff like this that makes me really love Rouses Markets. The Louisiana based grocery store chain is always very active in the communities they serve. Should the Ragin Cajun football team dispose of Appalachian State this weekend we might be making a trip to New Orleans to see our friends at the Rouses located near the Superdome for the New Orleans Bowl. They love Ragin Cajun fans at Rouses.
By the way, events associated with the world record attempt continues through the weekend at Rouses on Tchoupitoulas Street. Including some great savings on, you guessed it, avocados. Oh, one more thing, this isn't Rouses first world record attempt. The store did a similar event involving artichokes back in 2012. You gotta love Donnie and all the Rouses family. They sure know how to make grocery shopping fun.
