St. Tammany Parish Sheriff’s Office Turns Heads on Facebook With Hurricane Season Post
Hurricane Season 2022 starts today, June 1, and the St. Tammany Parish Sheriff's Office wants to make sure people are aware and prepared so, they pulled a few tricks out from under sleeve to get folk's attention.

In a post that starts with "Have a sippy sip of that freshly made " the St. Tammany Parish Sheriff's Office is getting a lot of attention on Facebook for their recent Hurricane Preparedness reminder.
Getting people's attention is exactly what they were hoping to do.
Above is the photo the St. Tammany Parish Sheriff's Office posted on their Facebook page along with the caption "The bottom line is you need to be prepared."
Clearly, the photo showing a hurricane traveling through the Gulf straight to South Louisiana quickly caused people to stop and look, which was the point.
Normally people wouldn't take too kindly to anyone posting a graphic showing a hurricane headed to Acadiana when there isn't one, especially when there is a tropical depression likely to form in the Gulf of Mexico later this week.
It's what the St. Tammany Parish Sheriff's Office posted along with the fake hurricane map that has everyone kind of loving it.
From Facebook -
"Yes hurricanes cramp our styles… and yes we have to talk about this . Why you may ask??? Because every dagum year there is always that one guy that sees a cat 4 approaching, decides to stay, and doesn’t even buy a single battery or a pack of sammich meat."
This is one of the only cases of the old "bait and switch" we can say we're very much OK with.
It's getting people's attention and then delivering an incredibly important message.
Oh, also make sure to check out the hashtags the St. Tammany Parish Sheriff's Office used on the post...#HamOrTurkeyIsGoodWithMe, #YourBlowDryerWillWorkInNorthMS,
