The Crawfish Ambassador’s List of Boiled Crawfish Restaurants
The Crawfish Ambassador's list of boiled crawfish restaurants is listed below thanks to Candy's Crawfish Tales. It’s “Crawfish Season” and that means everyone in Acadiana is wanting to know which restaurants are boiling the best crawfish. Who has good crawfish? What size are the crawfish? How are they seasoned? What is the price? Wouldn’t you be happy to know that someone is making it really easy for you to get all of your questions answered in one place? Candy Domengeaux is being recognized around Acadiana as the Crawfish Ambassador. Or as she notes, the “self-proclaimed” Crawfish Ambassador. Her undying love for boiled crawfish created a spark to create a hub for everything you need to know for the ultimate boiled crawfish dining experience. That hub is a Facebook page she created, Candy’s Crawfish Tales. Haha. Get it? Tales? Everyone has their own opinion of what they consider "the best". Domengeaux encourages members to use the group as a platform for sharing their personal crawfish experiences at local restaurants, in real-time. So this page will help YOU determine which crawfish is "the best" for YOU. With the help of the Lafayette Travel website, she created a boiled crawfish directory and she updates it weekly. (see below). On Fridays, she gathers all of the pricing that she can find from restaurants to make it easier for you. Instead of calling each place, just go to her page for a list of everyone’s prices.
Rules of Engagement for the Candy’s Crawfish Tales Page:
- Post pics of your crawfish.
- Tag the restaurant or drive-thru.
- Give us your best critique on a 1-5 claw scale! Include the size of crawfish, ease of peeling, claws (juicy or too hard to mess with), pricing, order sizes, wait times, etc. Don’t forget about the sides. How do those potatoes and corn rank? What about their dip?
- Encourage your friends to join the group so we can all experience the best crawfish season yet.
- The Crawfish Ambassador’s Golden Rule for the group: Just like your Momma taught you. If you don’t have something nice to say, stick a potato in it. All crawfish deserve to be loved. No crawfish/restaurant shaming here. And remember, size doesn’t always matter.
