Finally some good news during what is turning out to be the worst year ever. According to CNBC, the Target Corporation and ULTA Beauty announced a sweet partnership on Tuesday of this week. The two giant retailers will soon be teaming up for a collaboration in hundreds of stores nationwide. ULTA, the makeup and skincare store, currently has two locations in Lafayette. One in the Stirling Lafayette Shopping Center on Louisiana Avenue, and one at 609 Settlers Trace Blvd in the Crossroads Annex. Target also has a location at the Stirling Lafayette Shopping Center, and one at 4313 Ambassador Caffery Pkwy.

Target CEO Brian Cornell told CNBC that starting in the latter half of 2021, over 100 Target stores will have smaller versions of ULTA Beauty inside their retail locations. They will also be represented on the Target website, and will be eligible for Target’s same-day services, like curbside pickup and Shipt delivery. Each locale will be approximately 1,000 square feet, and will carry their traditional 40 beauty brands and a rotation of seasonal items and products.

The beauty consultants in each store will be Target employees, but specially trained by ULTA staffers. One bonus for those of us who love both brands will be the loyalty programs provided by each retailer. ULTA has their "Ultimate Rewards" and Target has their "Circle" program. No word yet on which brick and mortar locations will be affected, but this is not the first of it's kind in the retail world. J.C. Penney and Sephora had a similar collaboration that began in 2009, and still remains in certain markets to this day.
