Alright classic country listeners, it is a very special day in country music history. So we must take a minute to pay homage.

I would like to send a very special Happy Birthday up above to the Possum himself, Mr. George Jones. I remember the day we received the news of his passing like it was yesterday.

Doc came into the studio to do a very special edition of the Classic Country Saturday Night show and he was near tears. Doc came up with the idea to bring CCSN to The Dawg 18 years ago and it was his baby for a long time.

The Possum was and still is one of the biggest influences in classic country music. I would even go so far as to say that it wouldn't exist or be what it is if it wasn't for George Jones. Doc knew this and this is why Jones' passing hit him quite hard.
