Youngsville Police Jambalaya Give-Back Event

On Tuesday, December 16, the Youngsville Police Department hosted their first ever "Jambalaya Give-Back Event" at the Youngsville, feeding the elderly with free, hot jambalaya plate lunches.

Youngsville Police Chief J.P. Broussard tells KADN News 15 this is the departments way of showing Youngsville's elderly how much the appreciate them

"Cars lined up behind the police department as officers delivered hot jambalaya meals directly to attendees without them having to leave their vehicles."

Chief Broussard says the event was designed to help the elderly in the city and to make sure they have a good meal around Christmas time and to get the department more involved in the community.

Youngsville police served a total of 350 jambalaya plate lunches by the time the event had come to an end.
