Youngsville Mardi Gras Parade 2026: What to Know Before You Go
YOUNGSVILLE, La. (KMDL-FM) - One of Acadiana’s largest and most attended Mardi Gras parades is happening this weekend. The Youngsville Mardi Gras Parade rolls Saturday, February 14, 2026, beginning at 11:00 a.m.
If you've never been before, you should know a few things before you go. (Heck, even if you've been there lots of times, there are some good reminders below.)

Get There Early for Youngsville Mardi Gras
Officials are urging parade-goers to arrive early. Roads along the route will begin closing at 9:00 a.m., but closures could happen sooner if traffic congestion leads to gridlock. Once gridlock occurs, roads must be shut down immediately, and there will be no exceptions for drivers trying to access homes, businesses, or parade spots.
Road Closures and Parking Restrictions
Parking restrictions will be strictly enforced. There will be no parking along the parade route, on the Chemin Metairie Parkway median, or in the southbound bike lane. Parking in the public right-of-way is prohibited, and violators will be towed. Moving barricades or portable restrooms is also prohibited and may result in fines.
What Is Not Allowed Along the Parade Route
The Youngsville Police Department also wants to remind the public that the following are not allowed on the parade route:
- Glass containers
- Pets
- Drones
- Fireworks
Approved Parking at Youngsville Sports Complex
Public parking at the Youngsville Sports Complex will be available on a first-come, first-served basis in the following designated lots: LeBlanc Honda & Kia Soccer Parking, NuNu’s Baseball Parking, and the Sports Complex Expansion lot off Détente Road. These are the only approved parking areas at the complex.

Setup along the parade route may begin the morning of the parade only. Staking off city medians, sidewalks, or public right-of-way areas before parade morning is strictly prohibited. Any personal items placed on public property before that time are subject to immediate removal. Clean-up crews will begin early Sunday morning and will discard any belongings left behind.
Important Safety Reminders
For safety, attendees must remain behind barricades and out of the street during the parade. Parade-goers are encouraged to catch beads and throws, but are reminded not to throw anything back toward floats or participants.
Organizers are reminding everyone to plan for a full day, act responsibly, and be courteous to fellow attendees.
While organizers strive to keep the parade family-friendly, the Youngsville Mardi Gras Parade is independently organized and not managed by a Mardi Gras krewe or association. Free speech and political paraphernalia are not restricted by the city.
