Images of high water creeping into homes in Acadiana are very fresh in most of our minds. It wasn't that long ago that heavy downpours dropped more than half a foot of rain in parts of Acadiana in a very short time span sending water cascading down coulees and rising sharply into living rooms and kitchens in several South Louisiana parishes.

Could there be more flooding rains in our immediate future?

The National Weather Service has posted Flash Flood Watches for most of the 97.3 The Dawg listening area until at least Saturday. Dave Baker at KATC TV 3 agrees with the government's forecast. Here is what Dave is projecting for your weekend.

What's the cause of all the rain? A storm system moving through Texas should enter southwest Louisiana by daybreak today. This large area of rain and thunderstorms should slowly push across the state through out the day Friday finally tapering off late on Saturday. Severe weather has been associated with this system as it moved through Texas so the possibility of a severe thunderstorm watch or warning is very real. Here is the latest radar scan.
