Meanwhile, in New Orleans, the New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival typically draws about half a million people every year. With the lineup in place, it's pretty easy to see why the crowds flock to the Big Easy. But unlike Lafayette's Festival International, the New Orleans festival does charge a gate admission, and parking is not for the faint of heart or the empty of wallet.
As you might expect, all of those festival goers and potential festival goers want to know what to bring and how to be prepared for several hours outside. In the case of both Lafayette and New Orleans, weather service officials are suggesting portable rain gear for both events.

Based on the latest forecast models, it does appear as though the greatest threat of rain for Festival International will happen today, Thursday.
