Mickey Guyton says it's her turn. The singer announced her engagement on Instagram on Wednesday, sharing that the moment "took me completely by surprise."

The "Better Than You Left Me" singer admits she likes to keep her relationship status private, but at the 2015 ACM Awards in Dallas she told Taste of Country about her long distance boyfriend of four years. He's a lawyer.

“He started his own law firm," she added. "He’s a broke lawyer like I’m a broke artist. So we're broke together. I think that's what makes us so happy together.”

That boyfriend was the guy after the guy who inspired her first two singles. "Better Than You Left Me" was about the end of a bad, off-and-on relationship. Her follow-up "Heartbreak Song" is a response to that guy's bragging that he inspired her first hit song. Needless to say, the fella was good inspiration but a lousy lover.

"It's not about finding the perfect person. It's about finding someone that you can go thru (sic) heaven and hell with," Guyton writes on Instagram.

No wedding details were shared. Guyton also didn't mention any specifics about when, where or how the proposal took place, or even his name. The Texan just included a large diamond ring on a journal titled Can't Even.

Musically Guyton continues to work on her debut album. In 2015 she toured with Brad Paisley, singling Alison Krauss's parts of "Whiskey Lullaby" every night.
