Rain rain go away, you remember that song? We were all singing that tune about 10 AM on Wednesday. We'd seen torrential downpours, high winds, possible tornadoes, and a lot of hail. Just check out this video of the hail storm in Glenmora.

Even though the streets were flooded there were still enough idiots on the roadways causing even more damage. The lunacy was so bad that KATC Meteorologist Daniel Phillips went school teacher on the not so smart drivers for being in the mess. His scolding is quite comical, you can check out that video here.

The sad part about that scenario is that we knew more rain and even stronger storms were probably going to be arriving later in the day. Needless to say, the mood around South Louisiana was not one of our most joyful.

The good news is that at this early hour of Thursday morning the current radar scan out of Lake Charles shows the very last of this rain event is about to pass us by. Behind this storm system will be sunny skies but a very gusty and blustery northerly breeze.

The rest of the work week forecast and on into the weekend looks so much better. We should have a chance to drain and dry out. Unfortunately, many families will have to use that time to clean up and begin making repairs from high water and flooding.
