A line of showers should move through Acadiana during the middle of the day today. Cooler weather is expected to move into the area by the middle of the week.
It feels more like Spring than it does like the last few weeks of fall. There should be no need for a heavy coat but you might want an umbrella this week.

The moisture is being pulled from a weak tropical wave that has settled into the Texas coastline near Brownsville. This disturbance will provide ample moisture in the atmosphere for rain chances to be very high for Friday and even higher on Saturday.
The forecast models do indicate some strengthening of one of these systems and track forecasts do suggest that the system could become problematic for interest in the Gulf of Mexico by next week.
