Popular Burger Brand Recalls Products Over Labeling Error
(KMDL-FM) Based on the number of "Recall" stories that we have reported to you this year, I would like to go on record as saying I don't think America has a food safety issue. I think we have an issue with label literacy. It seems as if every week we are telling you about a product that you need to use with caution because the label was incorrect.
Now, don't get us wrong, we believe in fair and accurate food labeling and think it should be monitored so that companies won't attempt to fool us. Or attempt to make the product they are offering appear to be something that it's not. Food labels are important, but they only matter when the contents behind the label match what the label says.

That's the issue in this case. A well-known hamburger chain that also offers its products for at-home use has managed to put the wrong product in the wrong box. And because of differences in the product and the fact that people sensitive to certain ingredients could fall ill from consuming those products, a recall has been ordered.

Which Fast Food Frozen Hamburger Has Been Recalled?
The burger in question is the original fast food burger, the White Castle. The recall has been issued and authorized by White Castle Food Products, and the recall is limited to their frozen sliders.
You can find White Castle frozen sliders in many Louisiana grocery stores, and because of the scope of this recall, it is possible that some of the recalled products made their way to Louisiana store shelves. The concern is this. Packages of White Castle Original Sliders were accidentally packed with packages of White Castle Jalapeño Cheese Sliders.
Why Have White Castle Frozen Sliders Been Recalled?
The concern is that the Jalapeno Cheese Sliders contain soy and milk, and those ingredients are "undisclosed" on the mistaken packaging. The products were shipped to retailers between August and October of this year. There is a strong possibility that consumers could have purchased this product and have it stored in their freezers.
If you find you have any of the recalled product, you are encouraged to return that product to the point of purchase. You should receive a full refund. If you need further information, you may contact White Castle Foods at 1-800-843-2728. The phone line is open 24 hours a day.
