It’s Best Friends Day – Today’s Offbeat Holiday

Where would we be without them? Quite often they are the reflection that we need to see when we look into the mirror of our souls. They are our "besties", our brothers and sisters from another mother, they are simply extensions of us in the form of another human being.

Sometimes we marry them. Sometimes we sit and watch football with them. Sometimes we don't have to say a word and they know exactly what we are thinking. In a world where there are millions of people we should feel so blessed to be so loved and cherished by just one. They know us for who we are. They know us for who we aren't. They are our shoulder to cry on, the hand to hold, the ear to bend, and the heart that won't allow us to fail.

Today is Best Friends Day: It's an unofficial holiday and nobody knows exactly why today is designated as such but let's take it for what it is. A day to tell that best friend among friends just how much they mean to us. What are some qualities you look for in a best friend?
