The position of CFO was opened yesterday with the resignation of former CFO Shedrick Berard. Berard had come under intense scrutiny from council members after it was revealed that did not know the whereabouts of $18,000 in city funds earlier this week.
St. Martinville Mayor Melinda Mitchell read Berard's resignation letter to a special meeting of the city council that had convened yesterday to discuss Berard's handling of the missing money incident.
