Winn-Dixie Plans to Close Almost 200 Stores
The Winn-Dixie supermarket chain is reportedly planning to close up to 200 stores as its parent company prepares to file for bankruptcy.
Bi-Lo LLC, the parent company of Winn-Dixie, is preparing a potential bankruptcy filing as soon as next month.
Winn-Dixie currently has nearly 500 stores in the Southeastern part of the United States, including seven in Acadiana.
There is no word yet if any of the Acadiana stores will be closing.
Winn-Dixie has struggled in recent years having previously filed for bankruptcy in 2005 and 2009. Then in 2012, Bi-Lo acquired Winn-Dixie.
