How Cold Will It Get in Louisiana Tonight and the Forecast for Halloween
(KMDL-FM) After a Saturday that saw some showers and storms rumble through the area, much of Louisiana recovered with brilliant sunshine and slowly dropping temperatures on Sunday. This morning, across the state, depending on where you happen to be, it could be cold enough to wear a jacket and turn on the heater in the house.
Taking a look at temperatures from across the state in the early morning hours of Monday, it doesn't appear as though we cooled off quite as much as forecasters were expecting. In Lafayette, the temperature at 3 am was 55. That was the same reading reported in Shreveport, some 200 miles to the north.

The day should be bright and sunny across almost all of Louisiana, with temperatures at or below seasonal norms. The afternoon high in Lafayette is expected to be 83. Many other cities across the state also have a forecast high in the lower 80s today.
How Cold Will It Get in Louisiana Tonight?
Tonight, temperatures will not drop as much as they did last night, but it will get cooler in the coming days. Now we don't expect temperatures to be anywhere close to the freezing mark for several weeks, if not another month or so. But it should be decidedly cooler on Thursday morning than it will be on Tuesday morning.

The forecast for almost all of the state continues to be rain-free at least through Thursday. Over the weekend, the showers the area experienced helped, but did not put an end to the extreme dry conditions across the state. Another storm system is forecast to move through Louisiana over the weekend. Some of the model guidance suggests that this storm system could bring more showers and even cooler temperatures as we start the week of Halloween.
What Is the Trick-or-Treat Forecast for Louisiana on Halloween?
The Trick-or-Treat forecast for Halloween, at least at this juncture, suggests beautiful, clear skies and comfortable temperatures. Halloween day should be mostly sunny with an afternoon high of 77. Nighttime temperatures will slowly fall into the upper 40s, so kids and families on foot should have no trouble staying warm even as the temperatures drop.
